Urgent Notice: IRLP Yearly Major Maintenance Outage,
June 16 4:00 PM - June 19, 2017 4:00 PM EDT

The IRLP maintenance outage is scheduled from Friday, June 16 at 4:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time through Monday, June 19th at 4:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time.

The IBM Poughkeepsie Facilities team requires a weekend outage to building 003, where our IRLP lab is located, in order to perform significant building electrical service maintenance.

The IRLP outage is scheduled from Friday, June 16 at 4:00 PM EDT through Monday, June 19th at 4:00 PM EDT. Time is needed on Friday evening to safely shut down all systems, and on Monday to bring everything back up. While we anticipate most systems will be running by noon on Monday, this activity may continue into Monday afternoon. The IRLP Booking Portal will be down during this time.

IRLP VM classes can be booked to start during the outage. The regular class details email will be sent to bookers, instructors and contacts approximately 72 hours before the class start time. A second email will be sent approximately 24 hours before the class starts with a temporary 'shared portal' link for the students and instructors. This link should be used until the regular class links start working Monday. The email will have further information on using these links.

Classes that require access to physical hardware will not be allowed to book with a start time before before Monday 4:00 EDT.

The IRLP Reservation portal has been set to block any lab bookings during this time. In some cases, you may wish to begin a class on Monday with lecture only, and to begin the lab work on Tuesday.

Self Pace Virtual Courses (SPVC) - Students will not be able to access their labs during this time.

Please let us know if you are using your lab still.

Your lab will be suspended if you are not using it, or do not respond within 5 minutes.


Warning: If you continue, all your work will be lost and your environment will be brought to it's original state.

Notice: If your environment requires special post-configuration, such as advanced networking or attaching to VPNs, your VMs may reboot multiple times before it is in a ready state.
Additionally, your environment may still be configuring itself during the next 20 minutes after your environment becomes available.

You will not be given additional time.

This will add a SmartRDP option to your environemnt.
A new button will appear on the top right corner of your VM choices.
This will work for all VMs, not just Windows.

There is a lot that goes into labs... Learn the facts.

It is recommended that you power off your environment prior to continuing because this will effectively pull the power plug on your lab machines. If they are powered on, any unsaved work will be lost.

Once your keyboard is changed, you still need to make sure that your local system and the operating system of your environment are configured for the keyboard language you selected.
